We are headed to Hilton Head in June, and have a choice of three properties to stay at. The choices are Royal Dunes, Island Link Resort, or Ellington at Wichesaw plantation. We have two young teen girls who%26#39;s priority is a nice pool. We like beach type activities, but typically don%26#39;t spend much time at the beach itself. These three locations are our only choices. Which would you recommend? Which has the best pools?
Which would you recommend?I am very familiar with Island Links, but not the others. I highly recommend Island Links - great pools.
They have a website with pictures. Log onto:
www.rebamanagement.com and then click on the Island Links photo
Which would you recommend?bishop: While I have not stayed at either one, we have stayed in Port Royal Plantation before. We stayed at Ocean Palms in Port Royal Village. Ocean Palms is on the same road that Royal Dunes is on. It%26#39;s a dead-end street.
Here%26#39;s a link to Royal Dunes:

I would recommend Island Links for the better pool facilities. Royal Dunes is closer to the beach, via the Westin Resort. If the beach isn%26#39;t a priority, then I would say Island Links. This Wichesaw Plantation isn%26#39;t even Hilton Head, is it? Doesn%26#39;t sound the least familiar to me.
If you have two teenage girls, honestly, I would recommend the Forest Beach area if you can get something there. What is the reason only these three places are available to you? There will not be any beach-type activities there. Forest Beach has a beach volley ball, Tiki Hut. Biking on the beach is great. You will need to rent bikes for the week, it%26#39;s a must.
Island Links and Royal Dunes are both rated Gold Crown by RCI.
Hope this helps, oh, by the way, I don%26#39;t know how you are renting either place, but do they offer the amenties of the Westin Resort to you? If you can use the pools (outdoor) at the Westin they are great.

Just so folks are aware, major construction has started around Coligne Circle and Forest Beach. There is a redevelopment project that will impede travel around that area until at lest Memorial Day. Today%26#39;s Island Packet has an article about it, if interested (www.islandpacket.com).
Thanks for the update on Coligny Circle and the link to Island Packet, which we haven%26#39;t read lately. We are headed to Hilton Head April 18th for our spring break, although we spend the majority of our time in Shelter Cove and Palmetto Dunes we do spend some time at Forest Beach and Coligny Circle for the shops. Hopefully things will improve over the next few weeks.
Bishop2nd be sure to take your girls on a dolphin tour, it is a great experience
Is the construction expected to be over by August?
Thanks, all. Can%26#39;t wait for the trip!
RE: Coligny Circle Construction.
We just returned today from a week in Hilton Head. We stayed at Waterside by Spinnaker ( a trip review to follow shortly w/pics) which is in Forest Beach. The only thing the construction impeded was foot traffic and parking. The parking is GONE. The beach access is through orange snow fencing which snakes around construction equipment and torn up dirt patches. I haven%26#39;t read the Island Packet link yet, so don%26#39;t know what they are doing there. We used other beach access points anyway. If you are on bike, just use the beach access points off of Dune Lane.
