Hi there,
Can anyone recommend tour companies that take you on day trips to plantations? I%26#39;m trying to avoid renting a car if I can help it. Thanks!

are some links to look at for ideas. When you have it narrowed down, tell us which you%26#39;ve narrowed it down to and we can help you make the final decision.
There was (may still be doing it) a tour company that just picked you up at the Visitors Center and returned you for a fee. There was no ';tour'; and you purchased your own tickets when you arrived at the plantation or used the Heritage Passport purchased at the Vistors Center.
Also, all the hotels can arrange for a tour service to take you to the plantations.
Thanks, all! I did see a press release about a shuttle from the Visitors Center, that started last year. I hope that is still happening! Then I can ';tour'; on my own. I think I am going to check out Magnolia Plantation because of the Gardens and Nature Swamp. Are Drayton Hall and Middleton worth checking out?
Most advisors here suggest Middleton as the first (especially if you only have time for one) plantation to visit. It%26#39;s got the house, gardens, working shops, just about everything you%26#39;d want to see (and a nice restaurant).
Next recommended would be Drayton Hall, It%26#39;s the original house, not restored and is very interesting.
Have fun!
My top choice is Middleton Place with Drayton Hall as second choice for the plantation tours. I love the gardens at Middleton and there are swamps there, too.
