1st time to Myrtle beach - Questions

Hello! We will be in Myrtle Beach April 4 - 9 for the 1st time. We are traveling with our daughter%26#39;s high school softball team. Our accomodations were picked for us. We are staying at the Sand Dunes resort. I have seen the reviews. :(

Is it as bad as the reviews state? I am not expecting a 5 star but I am hoping it isn%26#39;t a roach motel. We booked a 2 bedroom oceanfront executive suite.

Any suggestions on restaturants or things to do during our down time?

We are taking our our DD15, DS10 and our DD4 along with Grammy. Our DD15 will probably spend most of her time with her team bonding.

Thanks for any suggestions!

My wife enjoys Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing for browsing and shopping. Also, there are some good links in the upper left of this page for Things to Do, etc....

Thanks for your response. I am using the link now. :)

Also check out Barefoot Landing lots of restaurants and things to do there.

is your daughter with her HS team??? or an early ASA tourn?? (just asking since my DD(16) plays).

Something for everyone at Barefoot Landing and of course Broadway is great (split it up into a couple of trips if you can that way no one is rushed and you get to see everything). Get a coupon book when you get there and do a mini golf outing tons of these to choose from. If you are going to eat out do some of the local resturants not the chains. Take a trip to the heart of Ocean BLvd (or the strip) get an ice cream walk around check out the shops there too.

Try to do as much research as you can on line order a guide and get the crew together to see who%26#39;s interested in what then you%26#39;ll have an idea what you%26#39;ll be able to do esp after you know your DD%26#39;s playing schedule

Have a great trip

can you suggest some local places so we don%26#39;t have to eat at chains?? :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am trying to research places to go, things to do and restaurants.

Privatel, This is for her high school varsity team. Her select fastpitch can not start until after high school ball. Will your daughter be at this tournament?

Angello%26#39;s for a GREAT steak. Oscar%26#39;s has some very good sandwiches, The Overtime is quite good. Wild Wing Cafe, while a chain, is awesome if you love wings, plus Tuesday is buy an 8 piece, get an 8 piece free. Oscar%26#39;s and Overtime are in North Myrtle Beach, Wild Wing is in Barefoot Landing, also in NMB and Angello%26#39;s is in MB. Enjoy!!

Our favorite seafood place is Lee%26#39;s Inlet Kitchen in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet. Sara J%26#39;s in Garden City is good as well. Neither are chains and both have excellent seafood. Ville Mare is an excellent local%26#39;s Italian place where everything is made from scratch daily. Best lasagna I%26#39;ve had anywhere.

The Liberty at Broadway at the Beach has their appetizers and micro brews for 1/2 price every day from 4 to 7 - their dinners are excellent as well.

River City Cafe is great for sandwiches and drinks. The place is half restaurant, half bar - you throw the peanut shells on the floor. It is not a chain, but there are several River City locations in the area - we like the one at Barefoot Landing the best.

Hamburger Joes,Original Benjamins,Fiesta Mexacanna,Chestnut Hill and House of Blues.
