Can anyone suggest any restaurants that kids will find fun or entertaining? 11 year olds. Oh and which one has the mermaids? Is it any good? Expensive?
restaurants fun for kids?
Seafare, just south of the 17-544 intersection has live mermaids, roving pirate, etc. I think it was $23-24.00 for the buffet. Food is pretty good. There are a couple of Friendly%26#39;s Restaurants that cater to kids. Most kids like burgers and Five Guys is good, no atmosphere. Most like Fuddruckers where they can kake thier burgers just like they want. River City Cafe where they can throw peanut shells on the floor is good too.

A lot of kids love Dicks Last Resort.

To each their own but I don%26#39;t consider Dick%26#39;s Last Resort appropriate for 11 year olds. Unless you don%26#39;t mind them learning some new terminology that you%26#39;ll have to explain.
Dick%26#39;s is fun-when they%26#39;re older.
There are 2 dinner shows you may want to check out.

Hamburger Joes is inexpensive (no credit cards accepted but there is an ATM inside). Great service and very casual for the kids. They like watching the ducks off the deck.
I was thinking the same thing about Dick%26#39;s after I visited their website. We%26#39;ll pass on that this time.I thought about the dinner shows but since this is a gift for my child%26#39;s birthday and I%26#39;m incurring all the cost, I don%26#39;t know about spending that much for 3 extra kids that are not mine.
How about a drive to Calabash and have a party at Calabash Creamery? I know the owner and this is truly a great ice cream place. They do parties and here%26#39;s the link:

It%26#39;s just over the border, off route 17 N. About 20 min. from Tanger Outlets on 17.
well, sorry. I%26#39;ve never been to Dicks myself...only heard about it from other posters.
Take the kids to Broadway at the beach...just walking around, letting them feed the fish off the bridges, playing in the water fountain..lots to do there without being expensive. Plenty of resturants to choose from too.
And don%26#39;t forget the many putt-putt places. Mid to late morning might be the best time to go with kids. Not as crowded then.
My 9 years old daughter%26#39;s favorite restaurant on our last trip was Margaritaville. We went there for lunch...She loved the giant blender and the hurricane ';party';. She also loves the Hard Rock Cafe, which looks like a pyramid. The food at both these places is OK,it%26#39;s more about the atmosphere!
thanks again forthe responses. And beachlady3 there is no need to apologize for suggesting Dicks. I appreciate all input.
I can see where Dick%26#39;s could be offensive. But, I took my 4 kids there last year and it was fine to me. My kids are 6,7,15 and 18. I thought the place was hilarious and the food was good too. The little ones don%26#39;t really understand it but they just love it because everyone else is laughing. The stuff they write on your hats is ';hilarious';. Like I said though, it just depends on what you want your kids exposed to. I didn%26#39;t really hear any bad words or bad things being said, it was mostly just the staff putting on an act like they had an attitude about something. We had a great time there. While we were there though, we did see a family get up and leave. As far as the Mermaid place (Seafare, I think), it was not worth the money at all. The ';mermaid'; thing is really tacky. The food was very low quality. I actually almost demanded my money back. I didn%26#39;t like it at all.
