Places to stay $100/night?

I%26#39;m bringing my 9yo daughter for 1 or 2 nights in late April. We would like to see 1 or 2 historic homes, take a carriage tour, walk around the historic district.

The trip is mostly about being together and not about luxuries. Can you recommend a clean and pleasant place for us to stay around $100 that would provide parking?

Thanks!

Places to stay $100/night?

I forgot to mention I found out about the Indigo Inn on Trip Advisor. That sounds like a good possibility. I am interested in finding the best rate for there. Trip Advisor says it is a best deal, but I had trouble finding a good rate online.

Any suggestions on how to find the best rate there or another recommended stay?

$100 a night in late april downtown would be tough. What day(s) of the week will you be here.

Check out the Mt. Pleasant motels, as well. Free parking and just 10 mins. or so to Historic District.

Might find something that will work for you there. Close, clean, good restaurants.

As stated, the particular dates you want may greatly affect the prices.

Definitely check Mt Pleasant, but remember that you will need a car to drive in and out of the city. Factor parking into your costs.

Rates are higher on the weekends. If you are coming mid-week you will find better rates. The Best Western King Charles Inn has $159 mid-week rate in late April on their website. The hotel is recently remodeled and well-located in the historic area.

To save the most, I%26#39;d recommend: 1. Staying in Mt. Pleasant (but don%26#39;t just go for the least expensive as there is one hotel that is a dump - the rest are tolerable) 2. Driving in and parking on Murray Blvd (free). This means you will have a long-ish walk to Market Street but it is very very nice and you will want to be there anyway as it is a fantastic area.

ENJOY!

I can%26#39;t walk great - use a cane. So, I%26#39;m thinking the Indigo Inn is a good choice economically, but the timing is off. What time of year would be less expensive but not too hot. And still have blooms?

Late September?

Anytime in September should work for you.

The best time for blossoms is in the spring, usually March or April. Those are our high time for tourists so hotels get full and price bloom, too. your daughter will love it!

Since you are so close, you might consider coming in late November when the camellias are blooming, it is cooler and there are fewer tourists.
