Teenager Activities

We are coming to Hilton Head next week (March 7) with our 13 year old girl daughter. She says that a friend told her that there%26#39;s nothing for a teen to do there and she will be bored.

So, we need help. What are some of the activities that a 13 year old (who thinks she is 18) can enjoy at Hilton Head?

Kay-Jim: Is your daughter bringing a friend along? Probably a good idea, if it%26#39;s not too late. If you are expecting Myrtle Beach%26#39;ish, you%26#39;re sadly mistaken.

Hilton Head is very laid back, no neon, no tacky amusements. It%26#39;s more of a ';get back to basics'; type family vacation. Last March break (Canadian) we had a group of 15 friends there with teenagers (5 teenagers 13-18 yrs old) They all had a blast, but then again, there as a group of them. They rode bikes down the beach and threw around the football and had a great time. We brought our FRS/GRS and they took the with them biking.

This year, we have our son (16) and his friend (16) and his family coming along.

Here%26#39;s what I would suggest:

* Commander Zodiac dolphin excursion out of South Beach Marina (a blast)

* Stars %26amp; Stripes Sailboat excursion out of Harbourtown (loads of fun, under full sail for 2 hrs and had dolphins swimming alongide us - have your daughter sit at the very front, lots of fun)

* Renting bikes for all of your and go riding. Everyone bikes on HHI. Lots of beautiful bike paths and most shops have racks where you can bike to and shop, grab an ice cream cone, etc.

* Tanger Outlet- has Gap, American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie/Fitch, etc. The teenagers had a great time shopping together.

* Savannah or Charleston day trip. Beaufort is really quaint and only 45 mins away too.

* Horseback riding at Lawton Stables, the kids did that and had fun.

* Rent kayaks or go on a kayaking tour

* Beach volleyball at Forest Beach out front of Holiday Inn and Tiki Hut.

* Wild Wing restaurant, Tuesday is 2 for 1, a fun place

* Fuddruckers - ginormous burgers (if you want)

* Hopefully the place you%26#39;re at has an outdoor heated pool!
