First time to Garden City. Are bicycles allowed on the beach? Is the sand hard enough to ride?

Bicycles on Beach?
Bikes are allowed on the beach, and during low tide you can certainly go for a nice ride. However, during peak months, not really practical to ride becaue of the crowds. Off season is great for bike riding on the beach.
