Where to stay in Kiawah

We are planning a trip to Kiawah in June with our children, the youngest being seven. We are torn between several areas in the west beach. I have narrowed my list to specific cottages in Inlet Cove, Sparrow Pond, Oceanwoods and the far end of Cougar Pt. Golf Course. The farthest places are the nicest for the money but we are concerned our littlest one will tire of the bike ride to the beach every day.

Do you recommend getting a bike trailer or is there parking at the beach if we want to drive?

Also, are there restrooms near the beach or do you have to bike home for that too?

Just trying to figure out if we should give up some of the ammenities to be closer. Any helpful hints are appreciated!

Inlet Cove is ideal for your purposes because of its wonderful community swimming pool and its proximity to Beachwalker Park.

We own a cottage (which we do not rent) in Inlet Cove. Normally, we bike or walk through the park to the beach through Beachwalker. When our children were small and the grandparents were visiting, most of the group would bike/walk, and one of us would bring the car - loaded with beach equipment and sand toys. The car came in very handy late in the day when, often, at least one of the small bikers was tired of playing to get home on her own.

Beachwalker is a specially nice stretch of beach for a young family because, unlike most of the Kiawah beach, Beachwalker has life guards. Umbrella and chair rentals are available. There are nice restrooms with shower/changing areas; and there is a handy snack bar.

Beachwalker Park charges $7 per day, with exit and return privileges, for parking. It is worth it!

I should add ... If you want my take on any specific locations or listings, don%26#39;t hesitate to send me a private message. Even if I do not know the particular property, I will be able to advise on the location.

Thanks for the helpful info. We are leaning towards a Sparrow Pond cottage on Thrasher. Other than that pool being smaller, which I don%26#39;t think will be an issue since we%26#39;ll be at the beach mostly, is there anything we need to know before we book it?
