This is my boyfriend and my first trip to MB. I have researched numerous hotels and these two are the ones that appear the most appealing to me for what they offer price wise. Location isn%26#39;t a concern, but I am curious as to the quality of each. They both have high ratings on here, but any suggestions or imput would be greatly appreciated! The one concern I have about Avista is that although the rooms are oceanfront, the hotel is shaped like a U and I would imagine that it would be a limited view of the ocean because of this. If anyone can comment on the view as well, that would be great! Thank you!
Island Vista or Avista Resort???Walked by the place dozens of times and thought the same thing. They have web cam on thier website.

Camera is in the center of the arc between the two towers. Zoom and pan around with the cam and you%26#39;ll get some idea of what you would see from a room.
Island Vista or Avista Resort???That%26#39;s a good idea! I%26#39;ll have to give that a try.
Stayed at Avista in April, 2007. 3 BR, 3 BA on 10 floor. Our unit although clean was a little beat up (walls need painting, doors w/ holes, etc.). Outdoor pool area was great but indoor pool had a VERY strong chorline smell. Made it uncomfortable to stay there.
Mandy, What part of N.J. are you from? My wife and I are from Sayreville.

Sent you a private message, guess you didn%26#39;t open.
My family of 5 (spouse and 3 kids) stayed at the Island Vista last summer and had a fabulous time!!! Every year that we have been to myrtle beach we have stayed a different resort and Island Vista has topped them all. Actually, we are returning again this summer!!! Friends of our were actually in MB at the same time we were and they were at the Avista and it didn%26#39;t compare. It%26#39;s a little bit cheaper, but not worth it. It was just more dated and the pool areas don%26#39;t compare. The avista pool area is sooo cramped! The Island Vista pool area is themed and the inside pool area is open to the outdoors which is really nice. I thought the staff was super nice as well. When I booked I needed a 3 bedroom unit, however for our first night only a 2 bedroom was available. I booked anyway, knowing we would switch room after the first day. The man that took the reservation said he would make a note in the computer in case there was a cancellation. Anyway, when we checked in, they put us in the 3 bedroom right away so we wouldn%26#39;t have to switch room. That was a big plus for me!Also, the location is very good!
Island Vista is beautiful and you cannot beat the location.
I have also stayed at both and would have to pick Island Vista. Loved the outdoor pools and tanning lawn!
