July 4th

I%26#39;ll be in Charleston for the first time for the 4th of July, where is the best place to celebrate?

July 4th

There will be celebrations all over town! Many have not been announced, yet.

There is usually a huge fireworks display at the Riverdogs game with fireworks over the Ashley River. A good place to view it, besides the game, is at California Dreaming restaurant or The Battery.

Patriots Point has a good one that you can see from there or from Waterfront Park, the rooftop bars, Fleet Landing restaurant or The Battery.

There are others that will be announced when it gets closer. There will be a list in the paper and your hotel or the Vistors Center will be able to direct you.

July 4th

July 4 is one of the best times to be in Charleston. Patriot%26#39;s Point does indeed have probably the largest fireworks spectacular but each town has its own, too. Everyone enjoys July 4th differently - when you say ';celebrate'; are you expecting to be shoulder-to-shoulder, music blaring and people dancing? If so let us know. I%26#39;m into a quieter scene - A few years ago we watched from the beach - that was fun - and leaving the beach we ran into the Sullivan%26#39;s Island fireworks and then the Isle of Palms fireworks. Last year was by far the best for me - we parked on the first ';hill'; of the IOP connector closest to downtown IOP. Being on the bridge we had a spectacular view and a nice breeze. I don%26#39;t like to be near a lot of people (there%26#39;s always some idiot who throws firecrackers and that makes me nervous) and I hate getting stuck in any type of traffic, so we parked so we were pointed in the right direction to go home and were home in 5 minutes. (so what ';scene'; are you looking for? Hot dogs, cotton candy, etc?)

Enjoy your visit!

Thanks for all of your help! I will have my 13 year old sister with me, so I was thinking something on the relaxed side. All of these sound like a great time.
