We are thinking of booking 4, 3 bedroom condos at the Mar Vista in June for a family reunion. Has anyone stayed here before? Do you think it is a goood place for a family reunion with a lot of kids? How about the location? Will we be close to shopping and restaurants? Are the beaches overly crowded here (I know that all beaches in the area will be crowded to a certain extent). Thanks for any advice you can give.
Mar Vista for family reunion
Marvista Grande is a beautiful resort. I stayed there over the new year%26#39;s holiday. It has one outdoor, one indoor pool, a lazy river outside, hot tub inside and outside and a kiddie pool. The indoor pool area is large and it has the type of window area that can be opened if it is really hot outside which is nice. It also has a very nice fitness area. The location is a few blocks south of Main Street in NMB. If you are a walker, then you can walk to some local restaurants and bars. It is very close to Kings Hwy. As far as the beach area, it is nice and not as crowded as some of the other areas. It has a parking deck on the same side of the street as the resort but the parking places are narrow if you have a SUV/van. There is also a pool bar that is open in the summer. There%26#39;s no restaurant since it is only condos. I think it is a great resort. If you want more pools, you might consider Bay Watch or Avista in NMB area. I do believe the complex as far as the inside of the condos at Marvista will be hard to beat.
Mar Vista for family reunion
Have heard all good things about Marvista.
How many in your group? Ever consider a house or a duplex? Might not have all the ammenities of a resort but would have plenty of privacy with only family around.
Elliott has four units listed as houses. More like condos in one building. 6-7 bedrooms a piece. Each one sleeps 26.
Building has the ammeneties of a resort with most of the privacy of a house.

Thanks for your response. We have done houses in the past, but there are a lot of kids in the group now that would enjoy the pools and lazy rivers. And everyone likes a little space I think. I have seen some of those houses, but with seperate condos, it seems like we get a lot more space and ammenities, and pay less.
You might want to look at North Beach Plantation, a brand new resort opening in June. It is going to be spectacular with an incredible pool complex, spa and fitness center. It is located across from Barefoot Landing and between Beach Cove and Ocean Creek. The beach to the north is busier, and the beach to the south is very quiet as this property is part of Briarcliffe Acres and does not have any development for a few miles. There is a tidal creek that separates North Beach from Ocean Creek. North Beach has 1,2,3,4, and 5 bedroom units. Check them out at www.northbeachrentals.com. My husband and I are owners of a 2 bedroom unit and can%26#39;t wait to make some great vacation memories here. We have a website with updated photos taken in Feb. 2009 www.northbeach1016.com if you are interested. Have a great vacation!
