Grocery stores

Where in Hilton Head are the grocery stores? If we decide to stay in Forest Beach, where do we go to get food and all the stuff we forgot to bring with us?

Grocery stores

There is a Piggly Wiggly in Coligny. There is also a Bi-lo on Pope Avenue. Harris - Teeter is in Park Plaza just outside of SeaPines. Pubix is on Palmetto Bay Road, about 100 yards East of SeaPines circle. finally about 1/2 mile down Palmetto Bay road is a Food- Lion.

Grocery stores

CoalTown: Depending on where you are staying either the Piggly Wiggly or Bi-Lo are the closest grocery stores in Forest Beach. Bi-Lo is right off Pope Avenue at Circle Center (Wild Wing Restaurant anchors the front corner of the entrance)The Bi-Lo is at the back of the driveway. Piggly Wiggly is on the opposite side of Pope Avenue tucked behind the Coligny Plaza over near Skillets Restaurant. Don%26#39;t forget to sign up at Customer Service for a member card. It%26#39;s FREE and you don%26#39;t have to live there. I have used mine for three years now. They are plastic cards and plastic key fobs to keep handy. You get all the bargains in the weekly and monthly flyer that way. You sign up on the spot and they give it to you right away. Takes two minutes or less. The savings are worth it. From groceries to beer to wine. Used mine several times last week. I prefer Bi-Lo for some reason.

publix has the best bakery and bread...for the visiting new yorkers.....

I agree with Luckytimer... depending on where you are staying in FB, the Bi-Lo or ';the Pig'; may be closer. We use both when staying in Forest Beach. The Pig is definately on the small side for a grocery store, but is very handy tucked in Coligny Plaza. We do prefer Bi-Lo as Luckytime said, when we are stocking up for the week. If you are looking for a more high end grocery store (hopefully I don%26#39;t offend anyone!), we also drive up 278 to the Fresh Market and Harris Teeter for their bakeries, meats, produce, etc...

I agree that Publix has the best bakery, we usually start at Publix and also check Walmart for some things as sometimes Publix is a little pricey. Since we stay in Shelter Cove we use the Publix in the same plaza as Walmart at Indigo. Publix has great Key Lime Pie. We have family in Orlando who shop at Publix and thats what got us started on Publix in Hilton Head. I must admit we have not gone to BiLo but have gone to Piggly Wiggly in Shelter Cove and did not like it as much

I%26#39;m hoping to stay at Seacrest or Shorewood. Which one of these is closest to there?

I%26#39;m at SeaCrest right now, and I can tell you that the Piggly Wiggly in Coligny plaza is closer -- but not worth any more than a quick pick up. The Bi-Lo on Pope Avenue is only a little bit further and is much better with more variety and better prices.

Have not tried the Fresh Market, but will do so later this week -- thanks TA for continuing to provide good info!

Gundi: Don%26#39;t forget to get the ';card'; for discounts at Bi-Lo. Especially since this may not be your first/last trip to Hilton Head.!
