Airport shuttles to downtown historic district

I%26#39;ve searched this forum for transportation options from the airport to hotels in the historic district downtown. I am interested in a shuttle and through links from this website, I read some information on the airport website re: $15 fee. However, I can%26#39;t find any more specific information regarding the vendor of the shuttle and hours of operation. I arrive in Charleston on a Sunday evening. I know that a taxi is always an option. Harbourview Inn doesn%26#39;t have a shuttle and gave me the phone number for Kamatta Express which they said would be $35. Can anyone provide more specific information on the shuttle? Does it need to be booked in advance?

Shuttles and taxis are always available at the airport. Advance reservations are not needed, but some services can take them. Mt. Pleasant Shuttle accepts advance bookings on their website I think.

I%26#39;ve seen the shuttle at the airport - you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem and it%26#39;ll likely be there when you land. If you want, talk to someone directly - there is a ';contact us'; on this website: http://www.chs-airport.com/taxi.htm and you%26#39;re going to ';Peninsular Charleston'; since you%26#39;re staying at the Harborview. Should be $15 - I think it%26#39;s only about 11 miles.

Welcome and enjoy!

I was in Charleston last weekend and took the shuttle from the airport, it is basically a shared ride service. They have a few transportation companies that provide service, you may have to wait for a few minutes while they get enough passengers but I was on my way in about 5-10 minutes and I think it was $12 plus tip. Because it is a shared ride you may have to endure a few stops but it should not be too bad.

Thanks for all of your help. It sounds like the shuttle will be easy to arrange without advance planning.

There is a small kiosk out by where they pick you up just across from the luggage pick up exit. There is usually a van or two out there.
