I%26#39;m torn between HHI and Tybee Island for this summer%26#39;s vacation in August. Should we decide to come to Hilton Head, which plantation or area should we try to rent in? We want a condo, beachfront, close to restaurants and shops. We%26#39;d like to use our car as little as possible once we get there.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks.
Where to stay in Hilton Head?
Check the ';Plantations'; STICKY.
Then decide between SFB, and Palmetto Dunes.

Where to stay in Hilton Head?
Thanks, Stan. That helps.
If you want to use your car as little as possible I would highly recommend the N/S Forest Beach area. You will be able to park and walk to anything you need- shops, groceries, coffee, ice cream parlor, restaurants, bakery. It is an ideal location. In PD you will have to take a shuttle across the street to Shelter Cove for dining and shops.
Thank you. It sounds like Forest Beach may be the place for us. Is the beach nice there?
the beach is noce in both areas, but PD is a little less crowded.
BTW The shuttle picks you up right at your door, and takes you to either Shelter Cove, the Mall, the Arts Center, The shopping Center or Plantation Center.

A friend recommended Folly Field Beach. What%26#39;s it like?

It doesn%26#39;t meet your ';use our car as little as possible'; criteria.
stick with PD or N/S FB, you won%26#39;t be sorry. I would look at Sea Crest, Ocean One or Shorewood in the FB area, This is a great area for walking to and from venues- as I said before- and the beach is wonderful. In August- depending on when - it won%26#39;t be as crowded.
Is anyone familiar with Seaside Villas. Beachwood Place, or Breakers Villas in Forest Beach?
I%26#39;ve seen some reasonably priced rentals in all of these.
YES!
That%26#39;s why Travelluvr recommended SeaCrest, OceanOne, and Shorewood.
