Tee Times for 1 Golfer

We are heading down to Myrtle Beach in April. As we don%26#39;t have anyone to watch our young kids, my husband will be golfing solo. Do you think he still needs to make tee times now or will he be able to join a group since he%26#39;s a single player? We have never been to Myrtle Beach so we%26#39;re not even sure which course to make reservations. We were hoping to do it once we get there. But I saw a post that said April was prime golfing time.

Thanks!

Many courses will not let you pre-book as a single but it is usually fairly easy to get on as a single if you go to the course. If you call the course they might see that there is a threesome booked and book your husband in but they likely wouldn%26#39;t book a time slot for a single golfer only because it is the busy season.

been in the same position a few times and never had a problem getting out as a single

Markham Mom....

Where are you staying and maybe I can help you with some suggestions for courses.

Many times our groups have been asked to take walk-ons to complete a foursome so there should be no trouble for him to find a spot.

Your husband can check out courses at www.mbga.com

Enjoy!

M M,

Your husband won%26#39;t have a problem joining in with other groups. As previously suggested, I also like mbga.com for course descriptions and ratings etc. It may be helpful to also use google maps http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en%26amp;tab=wl and zoom in close to the area you are staying to make sure the course is not too far away. There are so many good courses in the Myrtle area, there%26#39;s no sense driving all over the place.

I have been in your husband%26#39;s position several times. It never took me more than a few minutes to be assigned to a group after I showed up at the course. First time I did it I had to run to get my clubs from the car.

We just got back from Myrtle and we also found that if you look for a local newspaper they will have ads for deals on golf. If you call any of the courses you can also book the day of and find a tee time. Basically it comes down to how much money you want to spend and what times you want to tee off at. Have a great vacation!

Thanks everyone for their replies. One less thing to plan for now.

We%26#39;re staying at Sandy Beach resort and it sounds like there are lots of courses to choose from.
