I am arriving Sun eve. I won%26#39;t have a car and am in town for only 3 nights staying in the Historic Disrict. I know I want to take a carriage tour... weather permitting. Should my first step be to take a shuttle bus to the visitor center to get oriented or should I take a carriage ride first? Where do the carriage rides depart from....is there a central location?
On arrival...first steps without a carSince you%26#39;re arriving Sunday evening the visitor center might be closed, so a carriage ride is a good idea. The tours all start on Anson Street, and you can buy tickets at the ';barn'; where the tours end. You board on Anson Street (the carriages line up on the street). Call or email ahead - you didn%26#39;t say how late you were getting in and I%26#39;m not sure when the last carriage ride takes place. www.oldsouthcarriages.com or www.palmettocarriage.com Bring a medium-weight rain jacket as we%26#39;re expecting cool temps (around 60) and sprinkles Sunday and Monday.
