Which resort / hotel with water park to pick?

We are a family of 4 (kids aged 8 and 12) and we are planning to go to MB for the first time.

We are looking to stay 4 nights beginning of April and would like to stay in a nice, clean hotel / resort with ocean front rooms and great pool areas.

We prefer to stay away from the party scene and don%26#39;t want to stay in the middle of the arcades and souvenier shops,..... (is it called the strip?)

I%26#39;ve looked at the TripAdvisor for recommendations but it seems that it is hard to get clean, great pools, ocean front and no party scene - please HELP!

Sea Watch is away from the strip and also has several pools. Dunes is newer but the indoor water park can get crowded there if the weather is bad.

Another place to consider is Kingston Planation but you will need to book through the Hilton site I believe to not have to pay extra for the water park. You didn%26#39;t mention a price range so I%26#39;m mentioning places that could be more than you want to pay. Some people like Barefoot Resort although not ocean front but I believe they have the largest outdoor pool. Also, if you are coming after May, the new North Beach Towers will be open but unless they are going to run grand opening specials they will be very expensive.

Love Kingston Plantation. However you must book through Kingston to use the outdoor kids water park. Only guests that book through Kingston can use the park. They don%26#39;t open it for anyone else and you can%26#39;t pay a fee to get in.

The kids pool is really geared toward very young children. 7 and under is optimal.

There are many, many other pools in Kingston and lots of free entertainment.

Definitely away from all the super busy resorts. 145 acres of beautiful landscaped areas, a wide variety of accomodations.

The best buildings are Margate and Royale Palms.

Royale Palms, which is part of Kingston and connected via a hallway to Hilton has a great pool. Sandy bottom, lazy river and awesome cabanas you can rent for the day. Cabanas have flat screen tv%26#39;s tables, chairs, lounge chairs, tableside service, water, and fresh fruit trays. The ocean is in front of the pool.

Truly one of the nicest places in Myrtle Beach.

And for Mom and Dad there%26#39;s a great outdoor bar that overlooks the ocean.

If you have more questions just pm me.

May I ask when you are going and where you decided to stay. ?

We got a suite at the Holiday Inn at the Pavilion. It is ocean front and I am excited!! Has nice pools indoors and out and lazy river.

Dunes Village will take you away from the downtown party scene and has great indoor water parks and good outside pool area also.

Compass Cove is nice and has some really good indoor water features, although not a true waterpark. It is away from the strip area that is so crowded.

North Beach will probably not be open anytime soon

Caribbean Resort is advertising their new water park is now open. I have not seen it but the description sounded nice.
