how dressy is dinner?

We will be in Hilton Head next week. How dressy are restaurants? We are thinking mid to higher end mostly. Also, what time do people like to dine at? I find this changes from one city to the next.

Casual is acceptable everywhere.

Many people do go to Early Birds which generally run from 5:30 to 6:30.

You can eat anytime from 5:30 til about 9:00.

Thanks Stan -- I was hoping you would respond.

I get the message and presume that goes for the community in general. This helps with packing.

Bring an evening wrap, however, because a ';cold front'; is moving in and temperatures do drop at night.

We have found that many of the more upscale restaurants%26#39; patrons, while not dressy, do not wear shorts or jean like clothing; nice pants or pant outfits for woman, nice trousers, cotton knit or collared shirts for men.

Then the more casual restaurants, anything goes.

Bottom line, dress comfortably for most establishments.

Thanks -- I cannot imagine going to dinner without at least packing decent pants, dress shirts, etc.

As for the wrap -- I%26#39;m from Canada -- the same cold front is here with a vengeance! Let%26#39;s hope it moves out of Hilton Head quickly, it has been a long, hard winter, and we desperately are looking forward to the warmth.
