Bang! for Your Buck on Folly Beach - Secrets to Renting

Here a few tips and tricks to getting the best deals on Folly Beach.





1. Stay at least 4 nights



(Rental owners often charge a housekeeping fee for 2 and 3 night rentals. The best value is 4 - 7 nights.)





2. Watch for holiday price gouging



(Some companies actually charge more for holidays. Absurd! Be sure to ask if they EVER have different rates for holidays.)





3. Check the river side of the island!



(Folly Island is a thin, long barrier island. The walk from the riverside to the beach side is very easy. You will save a small fortunate renting on the river. These properties generally have less wear and tear from the beach and other renters also.)





4. Some rental companies offer discounts



(A few of the rental companies offer discounts. Check their websites for discounts/specials often.)





5. Dont be shy... ask for a discount



(Make a reasonable offer. 5-10% has worked well for me. May not sound like much but 10% off of $2000...



Don%26#39;t bother with ';This is my budget: $XXX'; Show you are interested and request 10% off. Summer discounts are rare so be cautious renting properties with discounts in the summer.)





6. Only 2 or 3 nights?



(If you must stay 2 or 3 nights, rent a condo. The housekeeping fee is less for condos so the total price is more reasonable.)
