I%26#39;ve been looking at Hilton Head photos and reading reviews on various websites, and I%26#39;ve come across a lot of alligators. Just how many alligators does Hilton Head have? Where do all these alligators hang around? Does the average tourist need to be concerned about the gators?
Alligators
In the 13 years I%26#39;ve been coming to HHI, I%26#39;ve never had the please of meeting an alligator.
Alligators
If you are looking, You may see one around a lagoon. On a warm sunny day, they may sun themselves on the shore.
You are most apt to see one if you are playing golf at one of our golf courses.
If you don%26#39;t bother them, they won%26#39;t bother you.

*sighs with relief*
There%26#39;s one more good reason to not play golf.
When we owned a Beachwalk villa in Shipyard (earlier in 2004/5, we could count on seeing one alligater lounging by the lagoon 90% of the time we went in and out. There must have been something about the microlocation in Shipyard it preferred, or maybe that was home.
My favorite encounter with an alligator was when I was on a horse, riding through the Sea Pines Preserve. On spying it, my eyes probably got a bit big...our guide says ';don%26#39;t move suddenly, you might spook the horse';. So I whisper ';me, what about him?'; The only reply... ';oh, she knows him';.
Don%26#39;t be concerned, we only plant the alligators to eat ugly tourists. Don%26#39;t be one, and you%26#39;ll be fine.
Oh, I forgot, alligators prefer ugly tourists (taste like chicken) and.... chicken teriyaki, of course!
