Will only be in Charleston one night. The difference in price between the two is $30. Which one is the better one as far as value, location, breakfast, comfort? Thanks.
Vendue Inn Vs. Andrew Pickney Inn
I%26#39;d pick Vendue - you didn%26#39;t say which way the split went (which one is cheaper). If the split favors Vendue, then definitely. Otherwise, it%26#39;s a tossup and I might stay at the less expensive place and just buy a nicer bottle of wine at dinner. The location is a ';tossup'; most would say, but I%26#39;d put Vendue at my personal preferred location. Vendue has more TA reviews netting a higher rating, so that skews towards Vendue again. Have fun! You will wish you had more time in Charleston.
Vendue Inn Vs. Andrew Pickney Inn
Oops... The Pickney is the lesser priced on. I wish we had more time too, but we are heading from southern NC down to our ultimate destination of Hilton Head.
I%26#39;ve stayed at the Andrew Pinckney, and while our room was nice and the location was great, the breakfast was a mess. The first morning, we got to the breakfast area around 9am and it was packed. There was no where to sit, no milk for the cereal, no spoons, etc. The second day, we made sure to get there earlier, and there were the same type of problems. It seemed that they could not keep supply and demand balanced...if they had food, there were no plates or cutlery, if there were dishes, they were out of food. Anyway, I would lean toward the Vendue Inn. I love the area where it is located and $30 is not a huge difference, for only one night.
Any more thoughts? I%26#39;ve got a few days left to make up my mind...
I like the Vendue.
Vendue Inn has a great roof top bar. Hopefully you will have nice weather and can enjoy a drink before going out for dinner.
Just as an FYI the Andrew Pinckney completely remodeled the building where the breakfast is served and added more areas to sit to eat the breakfast. There used to only be seating outside, but there are now chairs and tables outside, and on 2 different floors in the building. Best I can tell this has solved any issue with folks not having enough room to eat breakfast.
