How crowded is Hilton Head in late August? I had intended to vacation around August 8, but we may push it back to the 29th.

I think it will still be pretty crowded Aug 8; around Aug 29 it should diminish quite a bit, but you%26#39;ll still have a few ';one last hurrah'; family outings before school starts.

School starts the first week of August here. I forget there are places where school doesn%26#39;t start until September.

Most summer visitors come from the mid west where school starts in August. The island is fairly empty after the 15th with the exception of Labor Day weekend.
